CALL TO WORSHIP
Good morning and welcome to Sojourn! Our God has called each of us here today to remember that he is the one who made us, who has given us everything we have, and calls us to joy in life with him. Hear his call to you to come and experience his goodness:
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
Doxology (Thomas Kent, Louis Bourgeois) /Come and See (Whitney Bozarth).
Spoken: In Romans 1, we read: For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
Lord, forgive us for our idolatry- for putting too much hope in the empty fortunes of the world.
Fix our eyes on Christ, where eternal riches are found.
When you sent your Son, we did not recognize him, because we were blinded by our sin.
Fix our eyes on Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
May Your Spirit empower us to truly know Christ, and to share His message with a world that has forgotten its Creator.

Church, hear the promise of God.
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. (Romans 5:1-2 NIV)
Though our sin separate us from God, Christ justifies us, bringing us back into the family of God. We now can participate in God’s kingdom. Let us draw near to our King and praise him for this wonderful truth.

PASSING OF THE PEACE
Jesus shed his blood in order to buy us peace with God the Father and with one another. Though our natural disposition is to create tension and strife, the Holy Spirit is working in us to keep us in Christ’s peace. Let’s greet one another with Christ’s peace.
