This Sunday Deacon Sam Huff preached from the story of Bathsheba, in our Mothers Of Jesus series. In this short Christmas series, we are learning about the character and plans of God that He reveals in Jesus’ ancestry (particularly, the five women listed in Jesus’ genealogy).

CALL TO WORSHIP
Good morning sisters and brothers and welcome to Sojourn Community Church. I’m Jeremy… As the year draws to a close we acknowledge that God guided and cared for us even if it was a difficult one. As we look to the coming year we place our hopes and dreams for the future in the abiding love of our Savior. Hear these words from the Psalmist.
Come, let us sing to the LORD!
Let us give a joyous shout to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come before him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing him psalms of praise.
Come, let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before the LORD our maker,
For he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the sheep under his care.
-Psalm 95:1-2 & 6-7a (NLT)
Let us sing to out the LORD our maker.
Song: Sing Alleluia written by Marc Byrd and Steve Hindalong.
Confession and lament is the time in our service that we acknowledge that things aren’t as they should be. We have sinned against others and God and others have sinned against us. It is impossible to face God in the grace of our savior apart from this recognition. Please read the response portion together as we publicly confess our need for Christ’s forgiveness:
Lord, you are our shepherd;
Though you have given everything we needed,
we longed for more.
Though you told us to rest
We worked our fingers to the bone
Though you led us to Your peace
We wandered from you
Renew our strength,
lead us in paths of righteousness
Even when we walk through the dark valley of death,
Help us to trust in you and stay by your side.
Keep us in Your presence forever.
(Adapted from Psalm 23)
Let us sing our confession.
Song: All We Sinners written by David Crowder, Ed Cash, Seth Philpott.
When we confess our sins and call on God, God forgives us and abides with us.
All who proclaim that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. (1 John 4:15)
Though we sinned, Jesus Christ died so that we might have life with God. Let’s celebrate this wonderful truth.
YEAR END GIVING (Bobby)
Song: Jesus Paid it All written by Elvina Hall and John Grape.
PASSING OF THE PEACE
Our relationships can often be messy and painful. However, Christ has overcome the World that we might have peace with God. Since we have peace with God, we are a part of his family and have peace with each other. Let’s greet each other with the peace Christ has offered us.

Song: We Are Listening written by Jeremy Quillo.
And now, dear children, continue to live in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame. (1 John 2:28)
